Amit Behl is a distinguished figure in Indian entertainment, with a career spanning over three decades across film, television, theatre, and OTT platforms. An engineer-turned-actor, he began his artistic journey under the mentorship of Ebrahim Alkazi at the Living Theatre Academy of Drama and has since performed extensively in Hindi, English, Marathi, Urdu, and Gujarati.
With over 150 television serials, 50 feature films, and numerous theatre productions to his credit, Amit’s versatility and authenticity have made him one of the most respected names in the industry. His collaborations with legends like Gulzar, Lillete Dubey, and Neena Gupta, and his association with international theatre movements, reflect his global artistic reach.
A recipient of several honors — including the Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar (2024), Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation Award (2024), and Rashtra Shakti Award (2021) — Amit continues to inspire with his multifaceted contributions.
Beyond performance, he has been a driving force in artist welfare as General Secretary of CINTAA (2015–2024) and now serves as Chief Mentor of IICS under NSDC, FICCI & the Ministry of Skill Development. He also holds leadership roles as Hon. General Secretary of the Media & Entertainment Skills Council, Board Advisor at MET Mumbai, and member of advisory panels at multiple universities.
Recently conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by Stanford University (USA) for Creative Vision, Entertainment Leadership, Skilling & Artist Advocacy, Amit Behl continues to shape India’s creative landscape as a performer, mentor, and visionary voice in the arts.
